OSHA requires that employers instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury.
(29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2))
Whether they fall under General Industry or Construction, operators must be trained and qualified to operate the piece of equipment they work on.
PSI-LLC provides heavy equipment operator training for hoisting, earthmoving, and material handling equipment that specifically covers safety, preventive maintenance, inspections, applicable OSHA standards, and safe, correct operating techniques as well as grade reading, grade stakes, laser levels, site plans, site layout and soil types.
A qualified operator understands the instructions supplied by the manufacturer, has training on the actual operation of the piece of equipment, and an understanding of the safety rules and regulations for the job at hand.
Our heavy equipment training programs are designed to give a person the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to operate and our training iscomprehensive enough to ensure that the operator is fully capable of safely handling the equipment in the type of conditions encountered at the site.
We tailor each program specifically for the piece of equipment and how it is being used in the workplace.
There’s no better way to learn than through hands-on instruction, so students enrolled in our courses split their time between practical classroom instruction and hands-on field heavy equipment training.
Each student is provided with dedicated machine time to learn the equipment as an individual.
