The class David taught OSHA 510 was on point toward OSHA 1926. The lecture David brought to the class it was like he brought the construction to the class with him and guided you through each subpart to make you better understand what the class wanted you to understand. Also participation is important. Without participating you don’t understand some things that need to know. In David’s class he motivated you to participate and made the class fun to participate. He encourages questions and open discussion so that the course may be customized and catered to the consensus needs of the class. His diverse skillset as a safety professional has opened my eyes to the vast opportunities that exist within this field. His past experiences as a tradesmen is very beneficial, providing a unique learing prospective. His energy, expertise, and motivational speaking is an absolute must have. I had the pleasure to be a student in David’s OSHA 510 class at UT Arlington. I really enjoyed David’s approach to teaching as he made the material sink in with his years of field experience. “David was my instructor for OSHA 2264 at Malmstrom AFB, MT. He was able to tailor the course, allowing us to not only receive all the required OSHA information but he delved into the Air Force side of PRCS to make sure we saw not only where we needed OSHA compliance, but Air Force compliance as well. His relating his personal experiences from the field was very helpful in ensuring the class understood the information in each section he taught.
The only “criticism” I have, is David teaches the way an instructor should teach. He will show a slide, briefly cover the slide, then turns the slide off if there is more information he wants to share. These are all things instructors are taught to do, but very few actually do it. After years of instruction with the slide(s) always up (allowing for easy note taking), this style can be disconcerting, but David ensures the student understands in the information.
I hope to have David as an instructor for one of my future courses.”
